Wake County
John Verdejo is a North Carolina Institute of Political Leadership Fellow, New Leaders Council Alum, and Truman National Security Project partner. He also served as Co-Chair of the 2024 Delegate Selection & Affirmative Action Committee. Additionally, he is a founding member of the Wake County Steering Committee on Affordable Housing and served on the Juvenile Minority Sensitivity Training Advisory Committee of the NC Justice Academy. He is now a board member of Knox St. Studios. Located in Durham, NC, this minority-owned business connects and equips current and aspiring entrepreneurs across the Triangle and beyond with the skills to create businesses, jobs, intellectual property, and community wealth. On a personal note, John is the father of two young boys, ages 10 and 8, and works for the City of Raleigh. He is also pursuing a Master of Public Administration at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. When he has free time, John enjoys a good baseball game (Go Yankees), watching wrestling, traveling, and hitting the bike trails.
John is a current member and regional officer of the Democratic National Committee. Now in his third term, which spans over a decade of service, John sits on the DNC Executive Committee, serving directly alongside the national officers. He is also a member of the DNC resolution committee. In 2020, John received the Wake County Democratic Party Mentor of the Year Award.
