A native of Rocky Mount, NC and graduate of North Carolina A&T State University, Kevin is the founder of the BAC Scholarship Fund with more than a decade of public policy experience at the local, state and Federal levels. Kevin’s experience in public policy includes urban planning, government relations, and Federal contract oversight. In 2016, he was recognized by the White House for improving accessibility to transportation in America’s underserved communities. Since founding the BAC Scholarship Fund in 2014, Kevin has worked to empower the next generation of leaders in the Greater Rocky Mount area. He has utilized his nationwide network of resources to create more than $200,000 in college scholarships, field trips & technology resources for underserved children while improving reading literacy, financial literacy and workforce preparedness.
After an unsuccessful campaign for Mayor of Rocky Mount in 2019, Kevin was appointed by Governor Roy Cooper to the North Carolina Global TransPark Authority Board of Directors in 2020. He also serves on North Carolina Wesleyan University’s Board of Trustees, Nash UNC Healthcare’s Board of Commissioners, and the Rocky Mount Housing Authority’s Board of Commissioners. A first-generation college student and once a teenaged parent, Kevin has dedicated his life to affecting change through service to his community. He lives in Rocky Mount with his high school sweetheart and wife, Talia along with their two daughters (17 and 8).
